There was substantial discovery one year after establishment of observation station.
As shown in the figure, the surface wave from Mariana to Chichijima (OGS) and to Ponapei (PATS) passes through the youngest ocean bottom and the oldest ocean bottom respectively. And the wave velocity showed much lower and much higher values than previously anticipated.
